Magnolia Bakery

Renowned New York City-based dessert chain, Magnolia Bakery, has opened its first Utah location in Holladay. Famous for its signature banana pudding and classic, scratch-made treats like cupcakes and cookies, Magnolia plans to expand further in the Salt Lake Valley, with a second location slated for Foothill Village in Salt Lake City this fall.

Mina

Bringing Sicilian flavors to the city, Mina has opened near Liberty Park at 439 E. 900 South. The restaurant offers house-made pastas, breads, gelato, and a curated selection of wines and cocktails, aiming to provide an authentic Sicilian dining experience.

Strada Cucina Italiana by Matteo

Located at 30 E. Broadway (300 South), Strada offers a casual yet authentic Italian dining experience. The menu features homemade paninis, artisan pasta dishes, and fresh salads, with patrons having the option to customize their pasta and sauce combinations.

Latin Truck

Specializing in Peruvian and Mexican comfort foods, Latin Truck operates at 67 W. 1700 South in the Ballpark neighborhood. Menu highlights include tacos, lomo saltado, and salchipapas—a Latin American dish of sliced sausage and fries. Their arroz chaufa, a Chinese-Peruvian fusion fried rice, is particularly noteworthy.

Falafel Tree

Run by Chef Abby, a native Egyptian with experience opening restaurants in 22 countries, Falafel Tree offers authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Menu items include falafel wraps, chicken kebab wraps, beef/lamb gyros, Egyptian Moussaka, homemade hummus, dolmas, fresh pita bread, and their acclaimed garlic fries.

Tacos Tres Garcia

Located at 2901 S. Highland Dr., Tacos Tres Garcia serves a variety of tacos and other Mexican dishes. Known for using fresh ingredients and high-quality meats, they offer a unique dining experience on wheels.

Unique Culinary Concepts

Junah

In the Central Ninth neighborhood, Junah introduces Itameshi cuisine—a fusion of Italian and Japanese flavors. Dishes like wagyu ragu, gyoza-shaped ravioli, and matcha tiramisu offer a novel dining experience. Located at 916 Jefferson Street, Junah operates Monday to Thursday from 5–9 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 5–10 p.m.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar

Opening in Sugar House, Kura offers a kaiten (conveyor belt) sushi experience. Diners can select from a variety of sushi plates as they pass by on the conveyor belt, with chefs continually replenishing dishes to ensure freshness. A unique feature is the reward system: after consuming 15 plates, diners receive a toy charm delivered via a tube above the table.
